Dental Tourism in Asia is Booming - Manila Dental Clinics are Growing Fastest! By the Board Certified Asia Dental Association.

A recent survey of dental clinics
and dental prices in Asia by the Royal Hong Kong Dentist Association concluded that Manila may be the top dental tourism destination in the near future as its numbers of dental tourists have increased dramatically since the political turmoil began in Thailand 2 years ago ending in martial law being declared in June of 2014. Hong Kong is suffering a similar fate with its ongoing political issues with the Chinese central government.
The HK survey also noted that
a board certified dentist in Asia with 2-4 more years of specialist training often
costs the same as a general dentist for the same advanced dentistry treatments.
The only problem is – the general dentist has only been trained in dental
basics such as cleanings, drillings, fillings and pulling (teeth). Not dental
implants, cosmetic dentistry, root canals or veneers which they often advertise aggressively for.
This should be of particular note as
there is a great difference in the quality of work between a general and
specialist dentists. Thousands of patients from more developed nations
searching for affordable dentistry fly to Asia to see a dentist in the
Philippines or Thailand dental clinics each year. Most patients come from
Australia and Europe with a growing number coming from the US and Canada
according to the survey.
