10 Recommendations for a Great Dental Holiday in Asia:
1.
If you want a good price quote before heading off to
visit a dentist in Manila or Bangkok - email a
copy of your dentist's treatment
plan, normal x-rays or panoramic (if
available) to the dentist in Asia. Better
yet, send them to the Board Certified Asia Dental Association and let them find
a certified dentist in your planned dental vacation destination who meets your
requirements.
The
more information
the dentist has, the more accurate quote he can
make. Photos of your teeth are almost as
good as a clinical analysis. If none of the above are
possible - don't worry, x-rays (except panoramic x-rays)
are gratis at most Association member clinics.
Panoramic x-rays for dental implants are only $35us in many clinics in
Manila or Bangkok.

Try to know how many crowns, bridges, dental implants etc. you
require and detail it all in the Asia dental clinic's Contact Form. Advise
of any health issues, allergies etc.

Be sure to visit the Board Certified Asia Dental Association site to find a
certified dentist in Asia qualified to do the type of procedure(s)
you are seeking. Unless you are
having a routine cleaning, drilling or
filling - you will be assured of the
best results from a certified dentist rather
than a less-skilled general
dentist in Asia. And the vast majority of those advertising for
large treatment patients throughout Asia, Mexico and Eastern Europe are general
dentists.
4.
Get a free estimate and
dental travel advice from a Board
Certified Asia Dentist Association staff member. BCAD
Assn. Member dentists rely on the staff to
quote foreign patients in English and
schedule appointments. Most accept major credit
cards, dollars or local currency (natch).

5.
Note your proposed travel dates with BCAD to be sure the dentist
can accommodate you. Dentists take vacations too – especially
at year end in the Philippines and Chinese New Years in other countries.
The BCAD staff will check dentist
calendars, forward to you resumes, estimates,
and set your appointments for you
without cost.
6.
Obtain a passport – it usually takes 3 days to 4 weeks depending on the
service you pay for.

If renting a car be sure to purchase short-term auto insurance. Many BCAD’s
will provide local transportation for clinic appointments.

Ask the dentist for advice regarding
clinic local accommodations. Transportation can be very slow getting across
town in some cities due to traffic congestion.
9.
If planning a dental vacation to Asia be sure to bring sun
bloc, hat and sunglasses.
10.
